Thailand February 2019

Rob from Rockjumper and the local guide Uthai (who wrote the book Birds of Thailand) led 7 US birders, 2 from UK and me on a excellent journey across much of Thailand. We started in the central parts for 7 days, then flew to the north and visited several national parks near the border of Burma and Laos for 10 days. Finally we flew down to Krabi on the southern peninsula and stayed there for a week. Best birds were 4 species of pitta and three long-awaited species, Spoon-billed Sandpiper, Painted Snipe and Scaly Thrush. Of the 547 species I saw or heard, 343 were lifers.
