Peru October 2019

6 Americans, a Canadian and I visited northern Peru with the guide Rob from Rockjumper. We started in Tarapoto, passed through Maranon with many endemics and ended on the coast at Trujillo. Much of the birdning and accommodation was at high altitude in the Andes, up to 3600 m. The trip lasted for three weeks and I had 632 species, of which 471 were lifers. The best birds were 70 species of hummingbirds, including Marvelous Spatuletail. 7 species of Antpittas were seen / heard, 2 of them very close. And of course Andean Cock-of-the-rock was a very nice bird.
